Railway cottage
Old railway cottage, 65m2, 14 593 m2 (145,93 ares) of land, tucked away in the countryside, not too far from the nearest village, with plenty of amenities, banks, shops, boulangeries, schools, bus routes, and bars, but far enough away to have your privacy. This house has 2 rooms downs stairs, you enter the house into the kitchen, and then the living room is at the back of the house, the bathroom is also downstairs and leads off from the living room. The stairs go up from the kitchen onto the landing, and on one side of the house above the kitchen is a good sized bedroom, with a built in set of shelves, and on the other side of the house there is a second bedroom , with it’s own private balcony, that is big enough to put a lovely patio set, it is west facing, and perfect taking in the ambiance of the setting sun, with glass of wine in hand.
The kitchen comes with a wood burning stove, and the kitchen wall you can see the new water heater that has been installed, and the fuse box with all the new electric circuits that have been installed. The floor is concrete perfect for tiling, and the walls have been lined with plasterboard. There are windows on each side of the kitchen allowing lots of light in, especially in the morning.
The living room has had half the floor replaced with new boards, and there is also a cellar that can be accessed from in here. There are windows on 2 sides of the room letting in both morning and evening light, and there is also a chimney in place, so it’s possible to install a wood burning fire in here too.
The bathroom could do with a makeover, to say the least, but cleaned up, is perfectly usable, during the time it takes to renovate the rest of the house.
A new fosse will have to be put in as the old one is not inline with the norms, but there is a good roof that was replaced completely only a few years ago.
There are a couple of outbuildings, one that is very strong and sturdy and could be used for various purposes, the other building on the other hand perhaps needs repairing or maybe even removing to make the garden near the house a bit bigger or extend the parking area.
There is room to park a car at the side of the house, and there are also gates on the drive
The garden is extremely long and thin as it falls away from the house and contains a lot of fruit trees and also hazel. The extremely long garden does come in several parcels, that could possibly be sold off separately to the local farmer, who could incorporate them into his adjoining field. The garden is somewhat overgrown, but there is a lot of land, there is also a small south facing front garden.
The cottage is next to what was the old railway line but is now used as a green lane for hiking and horse riding, this lane runs parallel to the garden, which itself resembles an unused railway track. The garden would be a great spot for someone to put an old train to use as restaurant or accommodation.
It really is a very sweet little cottage, with plenty of potential for a beautiful cottage garden, and an orchard, and with its own well as a water source, to keep the costs of watering the garden down.
